Hello Everyone,

Welcome to Steve's Cycle Paths 2013!

This year we have “A Million Reasons to Ride”…..

We have now surpassed the 200 rider mark for 2013, and as you are all likely aware that rider registration is coming close to being SOLD OUT.  We still have approximately 150 secured spots, but please be aware the ride is putting pressure on us to put a name beside them. If you are planning on riding in 2013, but haven't signed up yet, please do soNOW (attached).  If you know anyone who would like to join our team, this is now the only way to participate in this years ride.  Please ask your friends and relatives if they would like to join.  We plan on keeping the team updated with newsletters from now until the ride, every 4-5 weeks.

As this is our first email heading into 2013, please review the information below, as we have a lot of exciting things coming up.

Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation – Special Appreciation Evening is coming to Niagara Falls

On Thursday, January 17th Steve’s Cycle Paths is pleased to invite you to join us at The Hilton – Niagara Falls, for an incredible & special evening with the RTCC folks and some very special guest’s.   This night is being held to honour and recognize current riders, previous riders, volunteers, supporters and potential future riders.  Please bring up to 4 guests with you to this event.  Please mark this date on your Calendar more info as you will be receiving the invitation shortly.

Fundraising

In previous years those who have had trouble fundraising inevitably were the ones who started fundraising too late.  I strongly suggest that you lay out a plan and start your soliciting campaign in the next few weeks.  We are expecting fundraising to be more difficult this year than last.  Because our team is so large and there is a large potential for overlap from donors, you may want to get together with other teammates and decide who is going to donate to whom. 

Remember, “The early bird always gets the worm”.

2013 Steve’s Cycle Paths - Team Cycling Kits

Like in previous years, I have already begun designing our 2013 Team Jersey's & Short's/Bibs, and I’m very pleased to say that they are almost complete.

I am hoping to email out the 2013 design before the Holidays.

As in previous years, I am actively seeking Sponsors to step forward to not only advertise their business on our 2013 Team Jerseys & Short's/Bibs, but also to Sponsor the following:

-           Transportation to Toronto on Friday from NF

-           End of Day #1 Festivities

-           Tailgate Breakfast on Sunday AM in the Hotel Lobby

-           Assist with the Transportation to / from Mohawk College on Sat/Sun

-           Team BBQ @ the Finish Line on Sunday

Training

We are now in December and we hope everyone has started some type of workout regiment and if possible you should be spinning or indoor cycling 2 to 3 times per week for a minimum of 30 minutes.  This ride will sneak up on us fast so it is important to start training now.  When spring arrives, we will try to connect groups of individuals who want to train outdoors together.

Hotels

We have secured a number of hotel rooms in Toronto for the Friday Night and Saturday Night in Hamilton. We will be releasing this info early in 2013.
